About Me
Training – Teaching – Therapy
Based in South Wales, I have set up my own specialist well-being and educational business in which I have supported families and students with dyslexia or other additional needs such as Autism and ADHD.

At the same time, I have been studying an MA in Play Therapy and recently completed the Certificate part of the course so that I am a qualified therapeutic play worker. Being an experienced specialist teacher and learning how play is a vital part of emotional development, I began to develop the use of art and pictures in supporting students with specific learning difficulties.
Due to this, I have used colour-codes to aid memory and also developed a student centred approach to reading and writing so that students enjoy learning and reduce their anxiety caused by dyslexia and other learning needs. I have been delighted to see my business grow and due to the success of the approach I have been unable to take on new students.
Consequently, I have crystalised these ideas in a course to explain the HF Colour-Codes and to provide resources to enable educators, parents and students to use the approach.

Recent Experience
In 2019 I established teaching support for students with additional needs, including those with dyslexia, ADHD and autism.
Due to the teaching strategies and approach, the business has gone from strength to strength. These strategies include student centred learning where student’s choose reading material.
I also developed the HF Colour-Code Method to learn spelling. This approach is effective and fun for students. I wanted to share this strategy and have produced this programme for dyslexic learners!
Since embarking on a Play Therapy MA, I can also support clients therapeutically.

2021
HF Colour-Code Method
Developed a colour-code method in response of the needs of students with additional needs. Success of the approach reflected in the continuing success of the parent support and student tuition.
